Sujet On point with the MK2 console

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

While mixing I have noticed that when I use the console to scratch/bring back music, the delay is longer than if I were to use the mouse and scratch manually on the computer. Its more on point as you would say. I want my MK2 to be as close to turntables as much as I can. Is there an setting that I should have it on or is that the nature of the beast.
Any help would be great thanks.

In V4 you can lower latency and it will be faster but it can't be close to TT's, for that you need better sound card like Maya 44 or ESI U46DJ.

How does one obtain V4? I just updated my sound card on my computer to a Diamond Stealth S120 - ATI Radeon 9550 thinking that would help but no luck. Are you talking about the sound card in the console?
Thanks again anything helps, trying to learn as much as I can about the art of mixing...

Sorry for the incorrect information on last post, I updated my video card not my sound card =(

I have since got the trial V4, and latency is that much better. Thanks going to buy full version after trial is over.

My next question may be a stupid question but if I update my sound card on my computer how does that work with the sound card in the MK2 box. Or are you talking about the sound card in the box itself. Because I am using the card in the box for the ouput audio. How does that work? Is the performance that much better with a good sound card?

Also dont know if you know much about other programs but if I wanted to run another program such as mixmeister that supports MIDI control can I set it up to what ever sound comes out of that goes through VDJ? And poss be able to scratch? If so how do I det it up?

Thanks agian for the support...

The latency is better/lower on Maya and ESI sound cards, on MK2 should be good but not fast enough for heavy/battle scratching. I was talking about using sound card in MK2, there is no point of using integrated one because MK2 is way better in sound and dynamics.
You can map midi in other programs or they have to support it, not sure about Mixmeister tough.
Hope to see you soon as a Pro user and scratch master!

try installing asio 4 all and using that with the mk2

it reduces the latency to 2ms !

check my blog for a guide on how.

Okay ordered Maya 44 Sound card today, cant wait to get it!

Installed ASIO 4 as metioned above and see little better latency now with the MK2 but.......

Dont know if its the sound card in the MK2 or just the crapy headphones I have (ordered new ones to) but with ASIO config to what you have in your screen, I get a whine type noise when music is not playing, poss in the mix to, but cant hear it over the music. Is there a different/better settings I should have it on. Latency 32 samples buffer 128 for the ASIO settings?

VDJ settings are:
Sound card- 128(2ms) with safe mode and overclock
Scratch- Latency
Simple Algorithm
Basic interpolation
Tempo Fast

Ok ok where do I start....

Got new MAYA44 USB sound card and installed driver for that V2.5.5.

Trying to setup soundcard settings, ASIO, performance in VDJ and kinda lost.
Inputs I have none, outputs I have single outputs, with ASIO selected as sound card. Configured the sound card ASIO with a sample rate of 44.1, ASIO resolution is 16bit and the performance is high speed.
As far as the performance in VDJ I have Sound card- 128(2ms), Scratch- Latency, Simple Algorithm Basic interpolation, Tempo Fast.

Forgive the ignorance but how do I connect the sound card to the MK2 so i can hear what is playing through my PC speakers, and be able to use the headphones to listen to right and left decks? There is 8 RCA channels on the side with a headphones and opitical out. Four channels are analog out and four are analog in (not color coded). I tried every which way to connect to the back of console and still no sound out of it. Now if I connect my PC speakers to the sound card optical out I get sound (and the performance is that much worse than before).

So if you can lead me in the right direction that would be great =)

Are you using V4 demo? Because you can't use any other sound card with MK2, it is the limitation of the Home version which came with console.
If you are using V4 demo than in options select 4.1 or 5.1 sound card and External mixer, you will have separate deck outputs.

It is 4.2 trial, and has options for sound cards... I select ASIO and config the maya44 and cant get it to go into the MK2 and output out of the MK2.

I am going to return or sell the sound card because I cant get it to work with in conjunction with the MK2.

The sound card in the MK2 is good enough I guess with ASIO4ALL config and latency is stable at 5ms as skyfxl metioned with no glitchs or pops...
