OK im running vista bought the hercules mk2 installed the latest controller drivers as administrator than installed vdj console edition as administrator but i still get the message "console not detected unplug and plug in console" did this a million times no good if anybody can help me i would really appreciate it.

You have to set your account to be a Administrator one, than try it.

please confirm on
control pannel > users > manage users > advanced control
your acount is in the administrator group
it can reset and by default all acounts are set to basic acess
