This is an issue generated by the ASIO drivers on a Windows XP machine. This does not happen when running Windows Vista or Windows 7.

Is there news about the mapping for Pioneer DDJ-S1?
Posté Mon 20 Jun 11 @ 10:36 am
Hi Guys,
I try to map "Pioneer svm-1000" video mixer. (or rather it's crossfader only)
- On mac os-x it's working smoothly (takes onlt few seconds to setup with VDJ-autolearn)
- On same machine (bootcamp) with windows 7 (64bit) vdj first hangs on startup (external devices), force kill, then starts correctly second time but does not see the SVM or receive any midi input (cdj-2000 does work)
- On other computer with Windows XP, it hangs all the time during vdj startup, when I unplug the USB cable I am able to kill it.
Even if svm-1000 is only usb connected device it does not work under Windows with vdj.
However device is detected by windows, it installs some drivers (soundcard ??? hid??? etc) and I have no yellow exclamation mark in device manager.
How to proceed ?

I have tested the DDJ-S1 yesterday on a Mac of my friend with Snow Leopard and the Mac see the device with name PIONEER DDJ-S1 and not DDJ-S1 MIDI, I have edited the definition file then it was recognized from VDJ ;)
Maybe it will be better if the next version of VDJ could accept more then 1 device name in the definition file.

DO NOT modify the definition file - rename the device in the MAC OSX in the Audio/MIDI setup to match the definition file - DDJ-S1 MIDI.

Quick question,
Yesterday i connected my Macbook to a set of CDJ 2000's for the first time.
Everything seemed to communicate properly, the as far as manipulating VDJ via CDJ platters loading tracks etc.
The only problem i had i couldn't get any output sound, could someone please assist me with the right settings so next time i wont have any issues.
Thanks

Hi guys i'am pretty new to virtual dj so really appreciate any help you guys can give me. Recentley bought vdj 7 a pair of cdj 350s and a new laptop hooked everything up works great except every now and again sounds just cuts out track continues to play in vdj but no sound unless i move the pitch shifter on the 350 at which point sound kicks back in. As i said new to virtual dj so hopefully something in the settings i'am missing to correct this as it really annoying and can't take my vdj and 350 on the road as i have no faith in them so still using my cdj 1000s and cd's plaese help thanks.

Hello all,
I am thinking of upgrading my gear from Denon DN HC 4500 controller with Formula sound FSM 600 Mixer Windows Laptop and VDJ 7 Pro.
Been using this format for over a year now in club environment and not a single problem with any of it......in fact I love it so far.
The gear I want to go to is a pair of CDJ 2000 and a DJM 900 nexus mixer plus my laptop and VDJ.
The question is.......will the extra investment (and it is a lot of money) bring me more satisfaction and controllability?
I have seen what each piece of kit can do on it's own but can't really find any info on this type of package specifically.
Would be good to hear your views.
Thanks
Mark

Pioneer have posted a new Firmware update for the CDJ-350 & 850, from 1.04 to 1.06.
This update includes:
- Improved functionality so that the user can switch the source between PC(COMPUTER) and DISC while DJ software is running.

@Anyone from Pioneer
Are Pioneer going to do a firmware update for the CDJ850 like the one for the 900 that gave enhanced connectivity with DJ software. Allows the software to show the following information on the display of CDJ: Cue/Loop Point, Waveform.
Thanks for any info,
Ian

Ian - the answer you are seeking is NO - already asked back when the unit was being built originally.

I was asking anyone on here from Pioneer that might Know if there is a firmware update in the pipeline.
As the 900 could not originally display the wave as well, there was a firmware update that then enabled it to be done. I was just hoping Pulse or anyone might know if pioneer are looking into it.
Thanks for the reply though Cstoll.

Ian -- the CDJ900 always had the capability. It was not an 'after-thought'. The firmware was a fix to correct a bug that we actually found in our development of supporting the unit. Hence, why I know that the CDJ-850 will not have a firmware upgrade to support the same features. I already had asked the same to the Pioneer engineers directly and gave you the answer I got.
