Hi Mate
PV are the economy range from Peavey but I dont hear many complaints about them. They are very good speakers for the money.
JBL have the budget JRX 100 range and Yamaha also make a twin 15+horn. See if you can demo them and then choose what YOU like the sound of.

I know that they are not the high end peavey but if you are just starting out...I highly recommend them

went back to the shop today.....the gentleman sold me some rca's that turn into 1/4 he recommended to plug into my master on the back of the mixer and run into my amp that runs my top and then run subs off the crossover
he also told me that my Yamaha s115 tops that i have are a much better speaker than my Peaveys????
Another thing that he said that i want to clarify here on VDJ is that my crossover needs to have the button pressed that states X1 or X10 he said it should be at X10 how true is this?
“x 10” range multiplier switch makes crossover-point adjustment easy

Hi Mate
The X1 X10 setting on your xover should be left at X1. This switch changes the frequency range that the Xover chan works at. It wont make it more sensitive. if selected to x10 it will multiply the frequency's so 80Hz becomes 800Hz. Not what you want.
Are the Yam's better? If u like. Speaker sound quality is a personal preference. I would recommend speakers based on Price vs Performance but only from a build quality/reliability point of view not from a "these sound better because xyz". Your ears may not agree with mine. As always, from me the advice is tryem yourself.
Remember you will still need the male to male XLR and male to femail XLR cables to complete your hookup.
Good Luck
