ive tried selecting 4.1 card in vdj but all i get from the sound card is audio out of one of the 3 outs on the card .And its audio from both channels (like over output sound from pc) i get no audio from the other outs on the card .im not sure what to do .ive tried changes the output signals in vdj and plugging in the 3 outs etc .
i think must be an asio card as i can select that in vdj

You need to make sure you are running the correct and most update drivers for that card or channel assignments will be impossible.
If in doubt uninstall and reinstall directly from the manufacturers website.
Once you have done that, you would patch channel 1 and 2 to one channel of your mixer say left and 3/4 to the other one say right.
In config, you can run this in either asio or wdm or 4.1 mode, your choice both will work.
In box 2 select external mixer
In box 3 select either asio or 4.1
Then assign the card and channel assignments and close.
