Hello everyone, my external HD is not being recognized. Also, VDJ just crashed on me. Here is the crash report:

sh ID=76a3e12d (date=903291507, version=5.2.1 Pro, build=521, thread=Main, dump=81792820, excode=c0000006 (0,29e0028))
Freeze (date=903291507, version=5.2.1 Pro, build=521, thread=Screen)
Crash ID=76a3e12d (date=903291507, version=5.2.1 Pro, build=521, thread=Main, dump=81792820, excode=c0000006 (0,2840028))

I rebooted my laptop and VDJ detected the HD, it shows the floders and songs names but when I load a song, nothing appears on the VDJ decks. No wave patterns, song name and artist name. I rebooted my laptop and VDJ crashed. And my HD is not being recognized. I need help.

I would plug that drive into another compter first.

Does the software function with other media sources?

I plugged my HD to my desktop and Windows gives me a error message that it does not recognize it. I have all my songs on there. Please tell me that I can recover this.

Well I can't tell you that.
I trust you hear and feel it spin up and see indicator lights preferrably green and not red.
You should seek the advice of a data recovery company.
If its making noise, it could be too late.

Drives are cheap guys, no reason to play roulette with our libraries.
I change mine every 2 years and they become my latest back up instantly.

Good luck with this.

Just wanted to update, After numerous rebooting, everything works. I have no clue on what happened. I had a gig last night and everything was running the way it should be. I don't know what went wrong but everything is up and running. I did not loose my music, thank God! I am going to buy 2 external HD's. Man, that was a close call.

While your buying...get extra cables too. It is an easy fix in some situations....

They are external crashes. Especially in windows dll.

DjCel, what does external crashes mean? Pardon my ignorance.

In short an external crash is something else other than VDJ causing it to crash..

For example: VDJ may crash because of a problem with a piece of hardware or the operating system.
