This has been a valuable thread on projectors but Screens need to be taken into account as well.
Here is a screen size /throw calculator.
http://www.projectorcentral.com/projection-calculator-pro.cfm
You place the manufacturer and model of your projector in the calculator and it spits out the size of screen
Also takes into account, mounting position, ambient lighting, optimal seating distance
Very good things to know about if you need to custom build a screen & projector mount combo or just want to know how big your screen will be say at 5 feet throw.
Now before you go into a venue you can plan projector and screen placement.

Sharp SVGA (800x600) resolution
Bright 33 Lumen LED light source
1GB onboard memory + microSD reader
MP4, MP3, AVI, JPG, WMV decoder
Projects up to a 80" image*
*(In low-light conditions)
VGA, RGB, iPod, PSP, PDA, DVD input
33 lumens seems low but the demos on the site show that it gives a good image and DJDab's images look good.
No keystone correction and the limited resolution could cause issues. Great option for the right applications and the price is right.
I like my NEC VT540, it's old but you can't beat a 15' diag. image on the side of a garage that the whole neighborhood can enjoy.
Thanks for sharing DJDab.

Does anyone have the P2 Pico Projector in use now, I'd like to know if it's a good buy for small club gig's.
Thanks
Joey...

I'm currently looking at one of these as the Aaxa Pico P2 is not available in the UK yet;

Anybody use one of these?
Any comments before I splash the cash?

Hey DJSoulman
That's a P2 repackaged;
well what I can tell you is that it's very nice, but if you're looking to use it for clubs and party venues then it's not bright enough to handle that type of job, other then that it's good.
I'm sending mine back for a larger unit HS102 http://www.aaxatech.com/products/hs102_micro_projector.htm
Good Luck

What I had in mind is not a full screen onstage but more a display behind me in the DJ booth. Like a LCD size screen display 40-50 inches.
That way keeps it simple and portable without having to mount somewhere remote with long wire runs etc.
Good enough for this?

A good Projector is the Optoma EP 1691 720p HDMI input

I use one of these:
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4199520&CatId=1759
500:1 lens - Makes a 62 inch image at only a 4 foot throw. Bright as hell in a fully lit room at that distance.

Both of the above suggestions are fine but a lot more expensive.

The cheaper ones will leave you disappointed. Think of it as buying a behringer mixer or Denon mixer

Hi DJ Marcel_1
You're right that unit is excellent, but I have some questions.
1. How often do you use the unit.
2. What length of time is the unit on per use.
3. How often do you change the Bulb.
4. How expensive are the replacement bulbs.
Thank You
Joey....
