1) Yes you can but you will need Pro edition to use TCCD
2) Yes but again you need Pro edtion.

Actually you can:
A) Connect CDJ's to computer in order to control VirtualDj with the CDJ's. VirtualDj WILL NOT control your CDJ's
B) Connect your Hercules to your mixer in order to control VirtualDj.
C) You can use both CDJ's AND Hercules at the same time to control VirtualDj
You can't:
A) Control CDJ's from VirtualDj
B) Connect your Hercules on the CDJ's
C) Connect your CDJ's on the Hercules
D) Control CDJ's with Hercules or control Hercules with CDJ's

WHAT???
Only CDJ400 can be connected to your Computer and he said CDJ's 800MK II
Conecting your MK II to a mixer will alow you to use a external mixer but you still have to use the MK II to control the internal fader
You are correct on this BUT only TCCD can be used when set up this way!! cannot go live...
as for your next row of answers it makes no sense?

I don't think PhantomDeejay knows that the Hercules Dj Console can be used as a timecode sound card too.
has anyone had experience with using the hercules mk2 as a sound card? if yes, is it good?

Why? I'm asking this to see if I SHOULD get VDJ. Why would I buy the software first and then find out what I bought was bad?

The MK II is a good solution for TCCD in small settings...like a bar or small club... I have both the MK II and the RMX and use either for small venue's
simple quick and to the point!!! with either!!

You already know the software is good and you know it's worth it. I have helped you with configuration myself. Look, you are a smart kid. Don't play someones intelligence when you know better.
It's always better to support the software you use rather than use illegal copy then ask for help when it does not work the way it should. You get more help and respect on the forum, free updates, free plugins and everything else that comes with a LEGAL copy of VDJ.

Any standard DJ CD player such as Pioneer CDJ-1000 can be used to control song playback in the full VirtualDJ Professional by using timecode CD's.
You will need a suitable ASIO sound card with at least 4 inputs and 4 outputs such as Hercules DJ Trim, Native Instruments Audio 4 DJ / 8 DJ or ESI Maya44 USB.
You will need the full VirtualDJ Professional http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html to use timecode. VirtualDJ Home FREE allows timecode to be tried out for 10 minutes at a time: http://www.virtualdj.com/download/free.html
Timecode CD's can be created yourself using the file downloadable from http://www.virtualdj.com/products/timecode/cd.html - Simply use your CD writing software to burn a couple of audio CD's using this file. You will need the pro grade file for Pioneer CDJ's.
Setup instructions can be found in the user manuals for VirtualDJ: http://www.virtualdj.com/wiki/PDFManuals.html
NOTE: Your computer needs to meet and preferably exceed the recommended specification on the following page: http://www.virtualdj.com/products/virtualdj/index.html
