Anybody know where I can download the Vista or Windows 7 driver for this mixer? The drivers are not listed on the A&H site. I hear its next to impossible to get a response from A&H support (they have to email the driver to you). Also does the sound card work in asio mode or do I have to use asio-for-all? I have a gig this weekend, the club has one mounted in the booth. I dont think anyone there knows where the original driver CD is. They also have a Audio8 DJ sound card.

thanks,
David

I just can't believe it! everyone rates A&H as been a top brand but are they really? I mean even Hercules have drivers out for windows 7.

I remember selling my XP laptop and buying an expensive vista gig machine only to be stuffed buy A&H not having a driver for the 3D, after having waited for months I had to sell it and I went to a herc mk 2 :) seriously

Can't believe they haven't got it together, they obviously haven't learnt.

Based on the information at Allen & Heath's website, it would seem there is no Windows 7 driver yet.

Audio8 seems to work with Windows 7 (you might find this thread useful) so you might be better of just using the Xone:3D as an analogue mixer combined with Audio8.

If you want to use the Xone:3D also as a controller, you can plug the Xone:3D to Audio8 using a standard MIDI-cable - effectively turning your Audio8 into a USB/MIDI-interface. The only problem is that you would have to spend some time mapping the buttons, since to my knowledge VDJ doesn't have a native keymap for Xone:3D (somebody please correct me if I'm wrong).

It would seem some people should just stick to what they know best. Allen & Heath has long traditions of making superb analogue mixers, but their recent ventures with digital stuff are more like a joke.

Thanks.. I knew I could do something with that audio8. I only have 2 usb ports on my computer, one is in use by my external drive. I just need the midi function to fade the videos. The button would be nice, but I wotn have time to map everything out. Ill bring a midi cable with me this weekend. That audio8 should sound pretty good. I really did not want to use the sound card in the 3d.

Is there any midi config that needs to be done to see the crossfader as audio and midi at the same time on the 3d?

thanks,
David

The Xone 3d works perfectly with Windows 7, install the vista drivers as an administrator.

Allen & Heath are normally very quick at replying to emails for drivers.

Allen & Heath engineers is stupid...and lack of knowledge... The big problem in Xone Series is when you plug the controllers to any computers it reads different midi address for each button i mean the hardware programs in midi addressing is not consistent for example in one computer with vista os the "play" buttons reads as "0x15 channel="12 if you do plug it in another pc with xp or window 7 it might read the "play" button as "0x13 channel=15 the midi address is not precise not like any other hardware manufacturer e.g. pioneer, denon, numark, american audio and many others. When you read the manual in xone 3d, 4d & xone dx suck the manual was printed with midi address of each buttons but all are useless Allen & Heath was pretending to be recognized as wow complete manuals with midi addresses no need to use the midi-hunter to hunt the addresses of each button. Try to read the last part of the user manual of the xone 3d, 4d & xone dx you will see the midi mapping address and use the midi-hunter to chech if those midi address if all that numbers is correct you will maybe 2 find or 3 only is correct. I think the best way to do is Allen & Heath should fixed the midi assignment as universal meaning can be recognized by any computer flatforms as fixed binaries and does change even when you plug it in mac osx, what happen to Xone contorller is like a small child when ever you plug it to your computers and when you install the driver with vista os for example: oh xone i want your play button reads like this xone said yes ok, and another pc with xp os said no i want it this way xone said ok no problem, and mac os says me too i want it this way xone said ok do what ever you want, if you built a controller like this then you will have billions of midi address heheheh stupid, what i mean is very easy try to have your midi address fixed binaries and can not be alter and change by any operating systems like ok this is me and i am xone this is my info if you like do accept if not then sorry i will not work for you... finished everybody follows you. You are the hardware manufacturer and i'm sure every OS would support you. Sorry to say this cause i have mapped the XONE:DX mac & pc for vdj 7xx everything works fine and i have it with me i have tried to ask support from Allen & Heath via emails and said it is not the hardware of Xone who has the problem it is the Virtual DJ problem now i want them to know that he stupid allen & heath wakeup see-look your manual of midi mapping address all wrong hehehehe from where you get this number? i approach one programmer from Russia and he was laughing that he discover even in one pc after sometimes of rebooting and restarting the systems while doing the midi mapping the allen & heath xone dx channels was changed by its own and he tried to play it is not playing because all the buttons was totally messed up the pitch bend becomes the play buttons and the volume slider becomes the pitch slider the loops button becomes the browser window hahaha stupid allen & heath.
