Im testing a theory, I may be wrong. Ati Users, are you getting good framrates with video?

I'm guessing the problem is not the card as much as the video encoding that you are using. I've been testing pretty heavily here's what i've found
mpeg 1 320x240 video very good and fluid, however the quaily of the picture is lacking
mpeg 2 480x480 video not fluid but picture quailty is enproved
divix 480x480 video not fluid picture quality worse then mpeg-1
wmv High quality 480x480 video quality excelent picture not fluid
wmv vhs quality 320xx480 video fluid ok picture quality but seems to lock up vdj
wmv medium 480x480 95 vdb video frame rates are less then 1fps and vdj crashes
I'm sure the team is looking into these quality issues I so want vdj to perfect wmv hi-def files the quality is unbelieveabe test it for yourself.
