Well, there seems to be a lot of mixed information and opinions regarding the capabilities to use VDJ with the TTM57. Here is some solid info for those looking for a definite and reliable answer.
Last night I arrived at a club in manhattan that only had the 57 and 2 dvjs. The components were built into the booth with no access to the rear panels (to plug in an external souncard). The only input options was an 8th in cable leading to an aux input and the USB. The preceding Dj was on serato using the USB. He opened vdj on his laptop and played a pre mixed track through the headphone output via the 8th inch Jack. This allowed me to unplug the USB (going to the mixer) from his laptop.
I powered on my laptop (MacBook pro late 2007, bootcamped with windows 7) and before opening vdj I plugged in the USB from the 57. The found new hardwre icon popped up, and in less than a minute "new hardware is installed and ready to use". I did have the zipped install file for serato on my desktop incase I needed it for drivers, but I dis not actually install serato, the install file was there. I don't believe the install file's presence affected my ability to recognize the mixer.
I opened vdj as usual and went to the soun card options. ASIO (time code) was NOT available as an option. However, I selected external mixer, no inputs, and 2 soundcards. In the drop down menus where you select which two cards to use, something to the effect of TTM57 1 and TTM57 2 were my options. I selected one for each of the two channels.
Sucess! I was instantly able to control vdj internally (as normal) and use the external mixer and it's built in soundcard. Again, I did not attempt time code.
Here is my configuration. This set up work with my system, and if you are running the same set up or similar set up, you will have no problems. Any other OS, vdj version, or laptop brand may or may not work. I only tested my configuraion:
MacBook pro late 2007
latest version of vdj
bootcamp with 32 bit windows 7
no midi conroller (Hercules, vci, etc.)
I did not have serato installed.
I did not attempt timecode
I did not attempt to midi map the mixer. May or may not be able to, but that was not the goal of my night.
I hope this helps someone!
I hope this report can help others in the future who run into this situation.

Yes! And I should note that I do NOT have asio4all installed.

That's cool to know cause I had read somewhere on this forum that the TTM57 was locked for serato's software only. I almost bought this mixer but I change my mind once I read that it was locked to serato's software.

Right! I was seeing the same things, and was forced to try the situation out when I got to the club. Having to use the mixer was a surprise that I wasn't aware about.
I think that posting is referring to the fact that we can't MIDI map or use time code with the 57 and VDJ. That may or may not be set in stone, but again...I didn't even attempt to try and figure that out. I was just excited and content with being able to use the mixer as a dual sound card. If you're looking for a great MIDI mappable mixer comparable to the 57, I'd check out Denon's x1700. Sick mixer, and I've had my eye on it for quite a while!

The TTM57 can be used as a two channel sound card for output only.
It can't currently be used for timecode input or MIDI mapped to control the software (Those features are unfortunately locked to Serato at present.)
