Sujet Keyboard Shortcuts turn off

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I just noticed that when I hit Enter on my keyboard it loads a song in the other deck. The problem with this is that I turned OFF keyboard shortcuts in the mapper dropdown list. I'm using the ns7 to do everything. If you turn off keyboard shortcuts shouldn't the keyboard not do anything and only work for search texting??

I just delete all of the keys in keyboard short cuts I don't want.

Thanks for the advice but I don't see the ENTER key with a command when I activate the keyboard in the dropdown list. Is there something I'm missing? Wrong place??

So what you are telling me is when I deactivate keyboard shortcuts it doesn't actually deactivate 100%?

You should be able to uncheck keyboard in config/mappers clicking on the top center button.
Or, delete the keys you want individually by highlighting the key and deleting.

No that doesn't work...

i tried that many times in the past. I removed every keyboard shortcut so the only thing left was "new". Unchecked keyboard in the dropdown as well. Still when I hit the enter button on my keyboard it still adds the next song to the list. this means that there are still functions that work that the user does not have access to. I ONLY want the keyboard to work in the search field only. Is it possible?

The reason I brought this up is that I'm positive that other keystrokes may cause problems when I DJ. Last week I was moving and clicking the mouse to the search area and I hit a key on the keyboard by mistake at the same time and VDJ shut down at my club. Not cool...

I was always under the assumption that when the keyboard was unchecked in the mapping it only worked for searching. This is not the case after I started investigating when VDJ shut down. I never had shutdown probs in the past so I never had reason to tested it.

Try this:

Play a song in the right deck
Turn off the keyboard in mappers
Delete all the keyboard strokes
hit enter on your keyboard and it will still load a song in the other deck. I tried it on 2 computers same problem

There is not even a shortcut for the enter button in the keyboard default mapper. So what are the chances that other things(functions) work in the background that can cause a shutdown or crash.

Go to my documents/vdj/mappers, and you see anything in that folder for keyboard shortcuts, delete it.
This is where mapper files you create are saved, the mappers are coded into the software now and don't show anywhere but the mapper config panel.

I have nothing for keyboard shortcuts in mappers folder. Only mapper is for my ns7.

You should double check this with the software designers.

Did you try what I am talking about?

I believe enter in browser to be an implicit browser function which still exists even which keyboard shortcuts are disabled.

So there can still be other keyboard functions when it is unchecked? I am really tring to figure out what key I touched when I moved the mouse to the search when it crashed. keyboard was unchecked at the time it crashed and I am positive I hit a key on the board at the same time.

what if you map Enter in keyboard mapper to do nothing. ,
Havent tried myself.. but might override the native function of the enter key

Yes, it did overide the load function but keyboard has to be activated. As I stated in my original posts I want to completely turn off the keyboard functions except for use in the search field. My main concern is not the Enter/Return command when the keyboard is unchecked, my concern is what other keys may be working that we don't know about that may have caused my crash when i hit the keyboard by mistake. i could have hit for example space & alt together when moving my mouse and this caused it to crash.

BTW - I learned that VDJ call it "RETURN" and not "ENTER". Again strange that neither one is listed in the default keyboard mapping list to delete. So it's automatically mapped in the software design.

you have to do that manually..

If you press auto learn, then press a key, you can map every key on your keyboard super fast, and customized.
To do nothing, or do something... even special keys.

To turn off all keyboard mappings you have to do this yourself, but its pretty easy ;)

yesterday at a wedding I wworked, I was playing a father & daughter song. I then began to get next song ready, I hit a key on the keyboard don't know which one, causing the music to stop. This isn't the 1st time this has happened, but most noticible. How can I stop this from happeninf again?

You can go to CONFIG -> Mappers, choose Keyboard in the drop-down list and then delete the keyboard shortcuts that you don't need, especially the single key ones, e.g: S for stop - Or alternatively change them to a safer combination of two keys, e.g: CTRL+S
