Hi folks,
stumbled on this site the other day, go have a look and see how far we've come!
http://www.karillon.com/rogersquires_a.html
Lots of pictures of kit from the early days, and a disco gear catalogue from 1980! I still have some old gear with a Roger Squires sticker on the back of it....

I completely forgot about the squire franchise .. I got my first technics 1210 21 yrs ago for 289 pounds at the bham branch.
My father used to dj & i started very early & i recall turntables using a circular piece of rubber to control the platter speeds which used to wear out so their was no pitch control..
Tonearms also had high output ceramic cartridges & alternating stylus.
I also remember citronic blue & yellow trim consoles & orange squire wafer thin slip mats being very popular in the showrooms at the time..
Does anyone know who first combined turntables, theres a rumor it was pete waterman , tony blackburn or jimmy saville?
Movin forward ....
It's funny how the numark ns7 controller have a similar template without the snakelights.
Im addicted to retro electronics, alll i need now is a retro mixer website or data as ive read that some mixers were big as tv sets in the 70s with rotary pots.
i'll combine your link with vintage technics website..

This takes me back to my paperboy & golf caddy days at the Hamilton Golf & Country Club when I could only dream of one day owning one of these beauties & lugging around 7 very heavy bins of vinyl to every gig! lol

I have a growing collection of old twin-deck consoles, and I still use my old TK Discosound speakers! 2x12" mid-tops, and 12" folded horn bins - they sound pretty darn good actually...
