I have read through plenty of posts on here but still everything I have read I have tried with no luck.
I have the hercules mk4 and it has been a hit or miss. everything installs correctly with it on my laptop but the lights on the mixer itself don't light up but on the back the two red lights by the audio in and out they light up but they are dim. when I go in to vdj I can use the mixer and it is actually working but I don't get any sound and the mixer is still not lit up. so to me it seems like the mixer isn't getting enough power to light up and produce sound.
I have had it working properly a few times but then it dies. friday night for example I had it all hooked up working fine, I plugged my mic into it and then all the lights on it died (again almost as if it was taking to much power to use the mic), so then I tried unsinstalling the driver re installing it, using different usb ports, I even went out and got a usb powered hub...still nothing....It really pissed me off friday because I had my first dj gig friday and was planning on using it and since it didnt work I had to use vdj just on the pc itself.
I've had the thing for less than a month and I have even tried installing it on another laptop I have and my desktop pc with no luck on either. are there any other options for me to try? is my controller defective?...does hercules offer a power solution? or a controller that uses AC power rather than USB power?

I got the same problem with you!!! what i do is i get a USB external sound card and configure it in vdj..just to use my hercules mk4..hope that someone can help us with our mk4 problem...
