Sujet Sound quality?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

So I have Virtual DJ 7. I have an issue, Im not sure if its the sound output or latency but the sound is just sloppy and cheap. When I crossfade the bass sounds harsh even with the bass turned down on the oncoming song. When I select an effect, for instance, a flippin double effect, it sounds unnatural and late... theres a lag in the response when I press the button to activate and deactivate. Maybe it's the gains? Any ideas?

If the gains or EQs are turned up too high, the music will sound distorted, try turning them down. If that doesn't help, go to config --> performances and turn the latency up, use the 'optimize or latency' option under scratch algorithm, and use the 'fast stretching' algorithm for master tempo.

Thanks I tried what you said and it helped a bit, but I don't think latency is the problem. I used the DPC checker and no red spikes. When I start the oncoming song at about -4 db it sounds fine. So I guess it's the gains...

Gains could be part of it, but -4dB is pretty low... it could also be the music files themselves. Depending on where you get your music they could be low quality files. Check the bitrate on the songs, if they are much lower than 320 kb/s then its just a low quality recording. I use netsearch for almost all of my music, and for some of the more abstract electronic songs it only finds low quality files because they are so rare

Assuming that your sound files are good quality, check that your sound options in CONFIG -> Performances are set to the quality options, providing that your computer is fast enough to be able to cope with these, i.e:

Scratch optimised for quality.

Advanced master tempo (Will give considerably better quality sound if you use master tempo.)

48Khz quality resampling (May result in slow loading of videos on lower specification computers.)

I am having this same poor sound quality issue. I am using VDJ Pro with Denon MC-6000. my experience has been Poor bass and song sound quality (like my speakers were blown, but they're not because I have two sets and they both sound blown on VDJ with 6000, but great with Serato Scratch Live SL1 on a Denon HC4500) and my EV wireless mic also has poor sound quality. I am wondering if it is my VDJ settings or the actual MC-6000 unit? Anyone have this issue?
