(Thought I'd do something useful and post this for anyone searching these forums)

I found something that might help people experiencing Jogwheel lag on there 850s

I've been having trouble setting up my CDJ 850s and one of the problems I've had was the really bad Jog wheel lag I would get when using software, which made scratching and tuning nearly impossible. I googled the sh** out of it and found that I wasn't the only one having this problem.
After a few hours I managed to figure out what the problem is.
(Note, this is for people using CDJ 850s using MIDI)

Chances are when you bought your 850s they didn't have the latest firmware. I bought mine on December of 2010 and it came with firmware version 1.0. The latest firmware Version 1.04 has a few improvements/changes but the most notable one is the alleged "improvement of JOG for use with DJ software"

I was pretty desperate to resort to a firmware update but to my greatest surprise it actually worked! After I downloaded it and installed using the instructions, the jog wheel worked seamlessly using VDJ

You can get the update here: http://pioneer.jp/support/download/dj-e/cdj-850/firm.html

Important, follow this PDF guide: http://pioneer.jp/support/download/dj-e/pdf/CDJ-850_firm_dl_manual_En_fromPMC.pdf

Note- Always make sure Timecodes are off, you are using MIDI and it may cause performance issues.
