Just bought the software but am having trouble setting up an external sound card. The one I have is here:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=270673601253

I have configured it on the laptop and managed to get an output eventually. I plugged on the Hercules mixer and tried to hook up a set of speakers and eventually got them working by plugging them into the 'line out' jack on the external sound card. I tried pluggging in the headphones into various other of the remaining 3 jacks but no luck even though I kept changing the config settings in the software. Then I looked at the mixer and the two headphone monitoring buttons. If there was a track playing on deck 1 and the headphone button 1 was down then the sound comes out of the speakers but if I put the headphone monitor on 2 then nothing. Seems to me that the way I have it set up the speakers are acting like headphones! Help anyone??

Hi,

you wrote above from a Hercules Mixer.
Please tell me name of that mixer.

If this Hercules mixer is just a Midi controller like the MP3e2, you have to use the setting below.

Inputs - None
Output - Headphone
Soundcard - 4:1 and beside select your soundcard.

Then it should be -> Master 1&2 and Headphone 3&4

Now you have to find the master output 1&2 on your soundcard and also the headphone output 3&4.

Because i don't know you card, you can try this.

Load a track to the left deck and press play!
Now try every port on your soundcard till the music comes out of yor speakers.

Then load a track on the right deck with the linefader (deck2) still down and left linefader (deck1) still up!
Press play on the right deck and search with your headphone port by port, till you can hear the right hand deck track inside your headphone.
