Sujet: Lights?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

What do you consider to be enough lights for a gig as a mobile gig or even has a resident? Also do you charge extra for lights at your gigs? Or do you have a set light set up that's included in your pricing and if need more you charge extra?

Right now the lights that I have,
X2 American Dj tri led
1 american Dj duel gem pulse
1 basic fog machine.
I know I need to add at least 1 more to balance out my set up.

This depends on a lot of different things much like the "Perfect Speaker" setup. Personally I like Balance in my lighting. Same on the left and right with a moonflower effect or maybe two in the center. There are others that are just the opposite.

IMO:
x2 color bars
x2 Micro Galaxian (non DMX) or if you want DMX get the Galaxian (I LOVE THESE LIGHTS)

thats all you really need at the moment. The color bars are to add some color wash to the floor, walls, or whatever.

as for pricing it all depends on your market. Some DJ's around me have once pricing for all that includes lighting. I like to give the option of adding lights or not. My basic package does not include lighting. I will add lighting for 150.00. If Uplighting for a wedding or corp event then thats 150.00 more.

The Micro series lasers from american DJ are a great no brainer best bang for your buck investment. Grab a micro galaxian and a micro gobo or even an micro star for $100 a peice you add a great laser show to your event.
I like to give clients a choice of no lights, a few lights or a full blown club atmosphere light show. I charge more accordingly.

Simple is good. BUT, I have done parties with NO lights for 250.00. I will not set up a light truss for 250.00, just not worth my time. By giving the customer an Option it can be beneficial. If the price is the same with lights, without lights, up lights, etc. Then you are not getting paid for your worth. Thats my opinion, but many make money by setting their price and going (like djtyme209 does).

Like I stated before, its up to you how you want to price your services. I am worth what I charge!!! remember that.

I will vary the costing based on the size/capacity of the venue.

I dont charge for lighting seperately but do have a range of prices that are governed by Size of venue, Distance to and from venue and gig running time.
