Setup:
Hercules 4-MX
Hercules driver package 2.87
OSX 10.6.8
VDJ Pro Full 7.0.4
When i am playing tracks on decks A and B, i am not able to preview track C without it playing through the PA, and the stop buttons dont work. If if disable the crossfader, i can just use it like a mixer with only two volume controls and no crossfader, but the stop buttons work
The situation kind of makes the controller worthless. Why have a crossfader and 4 deck controll, if you can really use them. Basically im stuck with a 2 deck controller with lots of fancy lights.

Why don't you just lower the level controls on Deck C&D before playing the song ?
You could also use the prelisten function of VDJ and assign it to a key if you don't want to play around with the level.
As for the Stop buttons, do you mean they do not work for the additionnal deck (C&D) or at all in VDJ ?
if the later, then can you
a) check in the Mapper tab that the Stop functions is actually assigned
b) test them outside of VDJ, following this procedure:

Thanks for the tips.
The stop buttons seem to not work at all as long as the crossfader is enabled in the VDJ config. If i disable the crossfader in the config, they work as you would expect.
The problem i have is that when i start deck C while A is playing. To kill A, i have to match the slider to the current level. So when i pass it even a little bit, the volume jumps up, and then goes down with the fader.
As far as i can remember, it worked better with my old RMX. From what i remember, i could preview deck c without it playing over deck a. I havent had a chance to hook it up and test exactly yet. That's my next plan for the weekend.
