Sujet MPK 49 for DJing?? / Alternatives ?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

hello everyone, im a complete noob to DJing and been wanting to get into it for a while now. i have however been producing music for the last 2 years so i do have some competence i guess in termes of working with audio.

ive been trying to use my MPK49 controller to work with virtual Dj, and have been having problems mapping out some of the thing in the program, things like effects, loops, and a few other buttons ether do not toggle on and off with just one button on the controller or jsut do not work at all when i assign the coding to the button. im pretty sure its not the controllers problem, but really just my assigning not being done properly. i currently can only use the controller as a mixer and Eq. as well as control pitch, bpm and play controls.

any one know how to get around this

another thing thats been bothering me about the MPK is that its general layout is for production and feels unconfertible for Djing (although i never really used a normal set up before). does any one else use something like this for the DJing they do??

ive been contemplating on buying a used controller with more or less basic features. but am hesitant because im pretty sure the MPK can work for DJing as long as its set up properly. i just dont want to waist money if i dont have to.

What are some lower end controller i can get for around $60-150 used {<--- i know that a joke to most of you :) } just in case the MPK becomes to much of a hassal, a sound card would be nice to have in the controller as well seeing as my current setup does not allow cueing.

also would it be possible to use 2 controllers at one in virtual dj?

thanks for any help u may give, i highly appreciate it

I would suggest you get yourself a Numark DJ2GO controller.

It's one of the cheapest on the market, but still has exactly what's needed for DJing - and comes with VDJ LE.

I continued to do research and came to the conclusion that a DJ controller would be best for controlling the software. i purchased a refubed. numark total control for $70. im going to play around for a while learn how to mix. i might also try to use VDJ in conjunction with Ableton just for fun, see where that takes me.

thank....... one guy that answered.
