Hello,

I being having issues with this i hope somebody can help. I'm trying to set up my headphones and my home speakers so i can mix and cue. I currently have the Free version of Virtual Dj and it show's on the comparison of the other versions that this is not an issue and can be done on my version. Even the technical rep said it can. He told me i needed to buy a Y-cable or a 2 sound card. The Y-cable set up did not work at all. Aside of hearing everything in my headphone, both tracks would come out of my home speakers as well. I try configuring it differently but it just would not work. I headed out to best buy and got a USB soundcard. The tech guide said it would just be plug and play. sure enough it was not. I was able to get it right and was able to cue on my headphones while playing a track on my monitors. The issue now is that i get a message that tells me "further configaration" can only be done on other versions of Virtual Dj and that i would only be able to cue for 10 minutes...................This is pretty fustrating.

can anybody tell me if i'm doing this right...or the tech guy just made me go drive all over the city when in fact the only way this will work is upgrading the version i have.

thanks you.

Well first you bought the wrong type of Y cable!

What you've got is a headphone splitter cable, which divides a stereo output into two stereo outputs - hence you can hear the same thing from both sockets.

What you actually need is a "stereo to twin mono" cable, which splits the stereo signal into left and right channels, and sends left to one output and right to the other.

Then what's the problem? It's working!
