Has anyone installed iOS-5 into their Macbook Pro.

Sorry,
maybe i'm explaining this wrong. I've only had my Macbook for a few months.
If I go to I-tunes and update to the latest version in order to use the Apple Cloud, and it updates the software so I can sync both my i-pad and Macbook pro using cloud, will I experience any issues by doing this?
I'm not a fan of updating software until enough time has passed for any updates to be considered secure.
