Sujet: Anyone know about Pro X Cases? - Page: 2

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

And make them yourself... now thats a custom build, lol.

I know about them, I work for the manufacturer.

My name's Flynn. I'm the Creative Director here for the company. I have a Pioneer DDJ-SR and I use our BlackonBlack Honeycomb Digital line of cases. These are the only cases on the market that has an entire line of "Stage Grip" honeycomb-pattern laminate. I like 'em. Of course your going to scratch Black hardware, but keep a Sharpee in the case if you're really worried about that. I use it because like my gear showing up on stage, not the aluminum on my case.

As for the "particle board" we use - IT IS NOT. It's 3/8th" Re-enforced laminated plywood we call "Gig Ready," and yes is lighter than Odyssey's cases. And no, you can not punch through it. Send us pics of your hand if you try. :D

My email is xxxxxxxxxxxx Feel free to contact me about your gear questions! We are about to launch a whole new website and artist roster too!

Just watch,,,, PRO X is name you will hear about more. Trust me, you will.

Check out the new catalog we released at NAMM 2014! Cheers!

Thanks Flynn for your input, to this very old thread. I think the original poster, and everyone else, has moved on. However, your info is new and current, so I will leave it open for now.

Interesting...

Thanks for not locking this AMAHM. This might be worth looking into.

I have just purchased one of their cases and it does not seem that cheap. I looked at a other cases as well and figured I would try this out.

Yes, thank you for not locking it down. As a general topic for hardware or whatever, I find that this kind of input, no matter how old the origination, lets knowledge grow over time.

Thanks for that post, djwhozya1. Great pics! We're currently redoing our website and will have a section for ProX owners to post about their gear, and how you use it. Can we use these? Or please, submit others, fer sure!

Sorry to hear that you sold your NS6 case, djcity. Was it just because you doubted the case? Or did it actually fail you? Can't imagine it did. I'm also curious to your feelings on the wheels, if you'ld bought had that option.

I have to say, I love VDJ. I've been using Serato with my DDJSR controller, but I miss the iPad remote that Virtual DJ has. I always tell people about the software when recommending mixing apps.

You are more than welcome to use the pictures if you would like.

If you are interested in their cases look here. I can give a link, because I don't work for them.

Heh, yes. I need to get my full-blown VDJ copy.

Actually, a new website is being launched soon for us, ProXDirect, that will be very awesome. I guarantee. :D

I still have the Pro X case but I had purchased the Odyssey case shortly afetr getting the Pro X.
The build quality was not up to the job. The case had a lot of flex in it and was not as "rigid" as the Odyssey.

I would be willing to give Pro X another try though. May look into turntable cases for my Reloop RP8000's.

What is the worst that could happen to any of these cases? It falls out of your car, when you open the door? All of 3 feet at the most? Falls of your hand truck? Even if it falls down a flight of stairs, I believe most cases on the market, will hold up. C'mon, who's dropping their equipment from a ten story building? You just need to protect from the occasional bump, and be able to stack this stuff in your ride. Don't believe the hype. Marathon, Odyssey, Gator, or Pro X, I believe will all do the job of protecting your equipment. Now, if you are worried about IEDs, then maybe you will need something else. However, let's be realistic. They ship this equipment all over the world, in cardboard boxes. I still carry my TVs, in the boxes they came in, and sometimes without. I bought them in 05.

For me it was about build quality and durability as well as protection of the gear inside.
If it falls apart because it's not BUILT as well as the next manufacturers product, THAT'S a problem.

My Pro X case was not as durable as the Odyssey and indeed started to kinda fall apart. The laptop glide tray began to get stuck a LOT then I started to see seems coming undone within the wood. Not the seems of the carpeting but the actual wood.

I am not hard on my gear at all. I take VERY good care of my equipment and I wanted a case I would not have to worry about or fuss over.

I still think Pro X cases may have come up since then and i'm willing to give them another try dependent on the price.

I feel you, and agree 100%. I live in New Jersey, so maybe I will take a trip to Pro X, and see what they are all about. Who knows, maybe I will get an invite from Master Flynn.

I haven't broke a filghtcase at all. I've never dropped one neither. So all the brands that I own are all equal in durability.

But this is my ranking according to craftmanship:

1. Road Ready - Best
2. Casemakers - Better
3. Odyssey - Good

Hopefully I will see some of these Pro X cases in my local music store. I am in Canada.

That's funny you said Road Ready. I have one in the garage, that was never used, and it came with a broken plastic grommet, at the pullout handle. I waited too long to send it back, but needless to say, they are not at the top of my list. It was too small for what I wanted it for, and would be too heavy for my cable case.

So Road Ready probably is on the bottom of your list, LOL!

Flynn,

You ship to UK? do you do bespoke orders?
