Alright guys, new to the forum after just getting started so thought i'd come here for a bit of help
I currently work for Signal Radio in Stoke on Trent, it's a big station and we're no.1 in the UTV Media group, so i've presented shows, i've tech op'd shows, produced etc...So I partially know the workings of mixers as i've used radio desks (I know they're a lot different but ya know, just bringing you up to date to where i'm at)
But i was speaking to a mate of mine who works for Juice FM in Liverpool and DJ's in one of the local clubs, and basically he's recommended getting into club DJing to help add stuff to your CV so stations know you can associate with audiences, and also he wants me to DJ with him in the club and cover him so he can get days off etc
So yeah, I don't really want to shell out more than like £120, (I'm thinking of Ebay-ing it) and alls i need is equipment to be able to do a club, so I have my laptop with the music, and I need a mixer - Which has output to go to speakers, a mic input, 2 jog wheels, and obviously the ability to cue the next songs via headphones, and headphones
I've been looking at the Hercules MP3 E2 as a mixer, but i'm unsure what sort of output this has and if it has a mic input
Could anyone shed any light on this for me or give one sort of advice on what equipment to get, it'd be most appreciated

Well your probably gonna wanna go with something alittle better. You should check out the Denon MC6000, its more then you wanna spend (well a lot more, lol) but its probably gonna better suit your needs. Heres a review, http://www.djtechtools.com/2011/05/10/review-denon-mc6000/

Lol! Just thought I'd throw it out there.
Have you looked at a Hercules RMX? It has a built in soundcard, made out of steel, has a MIC input and paired with VDJ it's a great controller for the money.
Check it out, you might like that better

You're gonna be hard pushed to get something even half decent for such a low budget...
I'd suggest maybe the Numark Mixtrack Pro for around £170, which will give you the basics.
That's not really aimed at club DJs though. It doesn't have gain controls on the channels, or any form of VU metering.
The Vestax Typhoon might be more suited.
Smaller, but it has gains, meters etc.

The Behringer BCD Dj stuff was just slightly, very slightly, more useful than a turd on the bottom of your shoe. The above recommendations are good ones, or the Hercules line of controllers are very solid, and, for the most part, plug and play.

If you want to work in a club then pro gear is better ..... being a cheap ass is fine until you realise the difference!
One of the guys that appears in a club I go to has an ancient laptop without an external soundcard and a £49 DJ2go controller. It looks tacky and sounds terrible.
As Terry says, avoid Behringer like the plague, it's cheap for a reason!

Maybe because if he buys a supported controller it'll come with VDJ ;-)
But yeah you can usually tell how serious a Dj is by his gear, not that its gonna make him a better Dj but that he knows the difference between quailty and crap.

I would recommend anything from Hercules or a VMS4, both durable as hell and most reliable for pretty decent prices
