Sujet Midifighter Mapping & Cue Points

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Good morning (Australian Time),
I am looking at buying a midi-fighter and have been looking through posts about these. Big thanks to everyone who has posted.

I am looking at the "basic" version of the midi-fighter with just buttons. This would be added to my DN-MC6000. I would like to set it up so that the top 4 buttons select a deck (I use 4 decks) and the other 12 buttons are Cue Points for that track. In effect I am looking at what Ean Golden calls Cue Point juggling.

I don't have any real experience with midi mapping so I am hoping knowledgible people (such as Sythet1c & cstoll to name a few) could provide some insight such as:
1. Is this possible and practical? Namely can VDJ support 12 cue points in a track and how would I set them?
2. Can you see any conflicts etc with my current hardware and software?
3. AND THIS IS A BIG ONE... Is it possible to have the "function" of the midi-fighter change easily? For example, I would ultimately like to "cue point juggle" as previously explained but I would also like to try and eventually use Synthet1c's mapper that uses chain effects asper this post:

I don't expect anyone else to do all the work (unless they really want to!) but would love the input, feedback and advice of others with more knowledge on this than me.

Thanks so much to all the forum contributors who have helped me to date!

hey mate, I am finally working on a definition file to get it fully working in vdj with DICEPD in this thread problem is I don't have a midi fighter and he is in the USA, so hopefully it won't be too much longer.....

in regard to your questions. vdj can support up to 99 cues in each track, so 12 isn't a problem at all. although on the mapping I have, its got 8 temporary cues, shift 2 allows the track to keep playing, just like the deckalized midi fighter, and it can change between 4 decks but to do that you have to hold both the shift buttons and scroll the decks with the param +/- buttons, the lights of the bottom row show what deck is active.

When we finally get the definition working there won't be any hardware conflicts.

yes you can have as many shifts as you like, in my mapping there is 4 on the top 8 buttons allowing the use of the cues, effects, beatslicer, beatmasher_group, you can also shift the whole device, which I considered having exact copies of the instant grat, and deckalized, but they don't line up even when you flip it upside down, so thought it was better to change the layout slightly, and include more functions
