Sujet Numark DJ I/O DC Power Help

Hi just a quick question;

I bought a universal power adaptor for my numark dj i/o soundcard.

When i plug it in the l.e.d light doesn't come on. Now is this usual
And does it still mean its powered up, as it only lights up when the usb and the dc power is connected..
