Sujet Cue playing through master?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

Hardware: Mixtrack Pro
Software: Virtual DJ LE (that came with it)

I'm having a problem where nothing will play out my headphones and what should be cued is playing through the master output, in this case external Numark NPM5 speakers (which are plugged into output 1 in the back). Headphones are plugged into the headphone jack.

Configuration is as follows:

Input: None
Output: Headphones (Master 1&2, Headphones 3&4)
Soundcard: Numark

Running most recent version. 7.0.5b

Everything works fine in Serato Intro.

You would think it would work properly with what it came with. Could anybody provide some assistance? The problem is not the headphones, as i've tried several pairs and they work in Serato. It is also not hardware, again as it works in Serato and I've literally had them for about an hour. I sent the last mixtrack pro I had back after 3 weeks for what I now believe was the same problem. So I'm confident the issue is not hardware.

I'm pretty sick of hearing Numark tell me the issue is software and VDJ telling me the issue is hardware. VDJ's support staff on the phone was also pretty rude and rather unhelpful. I'm about to throw it out the window. This should have been working at Christmas. I was first sent the wrong product, then they sent me the other mixtrack that I sent back for the same reason because I thought it was hardware, now i'm still having this problem (not VDJ's fault, just venting my frustration as i'm loosing time and what could be money). I'm confident my PC is configured correctly as well, again as it works in Serato.

Please help. I'm incredibly frustrated.

Sorry your having troubles, I've been using the Mixtrack Pro for about a year now, and I am very happy with it.
Can you try putting the speakers onto Output 2 to see if you can hear here the cue?
Is the cue mix knob on que, on pgm, or some where between?
An is the cue gain around half way up?

Above solution doesn't work. Cue mix is on cue, Cue gain on max. I've experimented with several combinations.

Try this please...
RightClick on the speaker icon on your taskbar, and choose Playback Devices. Select the Numark speakers (sound card) and click ..Configure. Make sure quadrophonic is selected.

Please, please, please could I have a little assistance with a similar problem?

I have a Numark Mixtrack Pro and running VirtualDJ LE (that it came with) although I've also installed VirtualDJ Pro trial with the same result.

My problem is that EVERYTHING is coming out of the master speaker output, e.g. cue preview.

Sound Setup is as follows:
Inputs: None
Output: Headphones (Master Chan 1&2 / Headphones Chan 3&4)
Sound card: Numark

I've been reading threads here for hours but cannot get to the bottom of this, I just don't know what I'm overlooking. Yes, my RCA's are plugged into the master (1) output at the back of the Mixtrack Pro.

I have sound coming from the headphones plugged into the Mixtrack Pro just fine and can use the Cue Gain & Cue Mix knobs as you'd expect. The problem is the cue preview coming out of the speakers which I obviously don't want to happen.

Any help would be appreciated!

I just purchased my N4 and was having the same issue of "cue playing through the master". I came across this thread hoping to find the answer but didn't.

However, I have found the answer so I am posting it here for others to find.

Simply go to http://www.numark.com/support/downloads/n4

Select: Setup with Virtual DJ LE 172.99 KB, pdf

Use your Virtual DJ LE disk to locate the ASIO4ALL driver

And follow all directions in the PDF.

There's no need to install or run ASIO4ALL with the Mixtrack Pro.

It has a standard soundcard inside, which will be recognised by Windows.

Indeed Asio4All should be avoided. But it seems that Numark proposes that driver solution even in its default documents.

I am also surprised, that nowhere is mentioned to first try the Windows driver, and set the Sound card to Quadrophonic speakers mode. As Support staff (in live Chat and tickets), i ve seen lot of N4 (Mixtrack and other Numark devices) users to make the N4 work properly with the Windows drivers instead of the Asio4all. And certainly this is also critical for MAC users (they need to set the sound card to Quadrophonic in Audio Midi Setup), as there is no other driver available.

I did try this after reading some other threads, but it didn't work for me. It is good to know about the other configurations if I ever plan to swap platforms, so thanks for that advice.
