Dear vdj community, Im looking for some critical and serious input, ive decided on two different mixers that I would like to purchase, which one do you reccomend, i will be using all four deck and 2 numark v7s, and doing video, In a nightclub where i reside.

if anyone knows the differences , the good the bad the ugly, please let me know what you think, I like denon and i like pioneer, which one is better overal factors include sound quality , durability etc... Any Input would be greatly appreciated, If you have used one or both please be very critical and stat the hard truth so i can get an idea on which unit is going to work best for my purposes.

I've got an X-1600 and personally I think it's a great little unit.

My only real gripe with it is the USB mode implementation. It has two USB ports - a USB B for connection to the computer and USB A for connection to a memory stick for firmware updates. It used to default to USB A, then you could switch it to USB B manually every time you powered it on.

They updated the firmware so that you can choose the default - however if nothing is detected on the USB B it switches back to A. It will then stay in A until you tell it to try B again, or until it next powers on.

Since USB A is only used for firmware updates as far as I can tell this is a bit silly!

thanks sbdj , i know the denons are great mixers i have the dnx600 and like it a lot , i was wondering if anyone has used both and could offer a true unbiased opinion on their experiences

Sincerely Dj Jamm

I like the DENON mixers specially the DN-X1700 they are solid and almost built with metal components not like pioneer mixer are mostly compose and built with plastic components. And one thing i hate in pioneer mixer are those printed labels on the knobs and sliders are easily been erased after a year or two specially if you keep on cleaning them every now and then.

Absolutly get the Denon hand\\\\\\\'s down. The 900 is a GLORIFIED 800, and I have had just about every mixer known to man. Currently I use the A&H DB4 and a Denon X-1700, so in your case get a DENON 1700, unless you can drop $2300.00 for A&H DB4, than rock that... Here is some pics of my set up\\\\\\\'s I use for different situations.
