Hey Everyone,
So I am pretty new to the DJ'ing world. I currently have a Numark Mixtrack Pro, and have had it for a few months now. I realized that the controller itself is pretty limited to effects and filterings and just general ability to do various dj tricks.
I have come across a product, the Novation Launchpad. My question is, 'Is it possible to use the Novation Launchpad as an FX Controller, while using my Numark Mixtrack Pro as my main 2 deck controller all while using Virtual DJ??"
If this is possible could someone post a link?
OR
If anyone knows another FX controller with similar style to the launchpad (mostly the pads and LED's) could you point me in that direction?
Thanks a bunch!

you can use as many midi controllers at the same time as you like in the full version of VDJ Pro, so using both devices wouldn't be a problem... There is also a mapper available for the launchpad to start you off in making your own ultimate effects controller, but unfortunately the launchpad does not have native support so you will need to upgrade to even get the leds to work in the trial version, but the good news is you get a 50% discount when upgrading the MTP, you will also have access to all the great new effects that you can use in your mixes.
Unfortunately I can't point you towards a similar product, however I can point you away from the icon istage... I got one in place of a launchpad because i liked the size, build quality & color scheme more than the novation, The thing is it works perfectly in Ableton when using the Mackie protocol but in vdj using midi some of the leds are duplicated rendering it useless, and you cant map the blue or purple state of the leds... I have tried to contact icon numerous times with no reply, so I don't recommend it.

Thanks Synthet1c that was very helpful.
I have noticed the mapper that is under the 'controllers' section of plugins. However I thought that this plugin made it so that the launchpad worked by itself as the 2 decks and mixer, making my mixtrack pro seem useless.
Also, you said "unfortunately the launchpad does not have native support so you will need to upgrade to even get the leds to work in the trial version". You are talking about upgrading my Mixtrack Pro? How would I go about upgrading it?
Thank you again for your help everyone!

to upgrade just go to this page and key in your serial number (it can be found in your download centre) http://www.virtualdj.com/buy/index.html
Your not really concerned with the existing mapping as you can change that relatively easily, what you want is the definition file that will allow vdj to recognize it so you can map the leds.
For more information on mapping the is a large chunk of the wiki dedicated to it and you can always ask more specific questions on the forum
