Got a new 15" MBP (OSX 10.7) with a solid state drive and 8Gb of RAM, transferred everything over from my 13" MBP; all mappers, transitions, effects, etc...
I got my VMS4 to work with it only after switching to 'built in output', playing a song, then switching to my advanced config, but tonight I couldn't get it to work or recognize the midi decks at all. So my first night back in the club I had to pull out the old MBP.
Is it a problem with the Operating System? Drivers? Mappers? What?
The console works fine on the old mbp just fine.

Hi,
I use a MBP 15" with lion like you,
I have no issue with the VMS4, I use the first USB port next from SD slot, and I no use AC adaptator for the VMS4.

yeah, i got it to work, but I have to go through the following steps
-start vdj
-turn on vms4
-start a song in built in input mode
-switch over to my advanced config
then everything works fine. kind of strange, and I don't understand why this happens.

Sometimes it is needed to apply after each start the soundcard config!
So try the next time to switch on the vms, then start vdj.
Go to the vdj config - soundcard and apply your config!.
I'm not sure if this is a vdj or osx issue.
But some soundcards need to apply all the time ;-)
BTW:Check if you have installed the latest firmware!
