Great job DJ Caliante. Excellent pictures.
I was there yesterday and sorry we missed each other, I would have introduced myself.
You did a great job covering a lot of the good stuff. You have a good eye for focus and centering the pictures. I love the one with the laser spread. It's colorful and cool.
Wow...I was jaw dropped when seeing the VDJ setup this year. This is the nicest one yet.
Plenty of demo stations, nice truss and signage, excellent large monitors for easy viewing, and a kickin' sound system. Microphones were very clear. AMAHM (Ahh-May-Hemm) and the staff covered the floor well. Alll were friendly and my questions were answered.
I don't believe there were any PC latops, only Apple for demos. I personally don't like those touchpads. And I noticed a couple of them were malfunctioning. I was tempted to reboot 'em, but got sidetracked with the Version 8 demo, and Larry D's set.
Larry D. had it together again this year. He's a true video artist. Lots of time went into editing and blending that presentation. I caught those funky live scratches he transformed in there. .
I can't wait tiill V7.0.5b comes out in a couple of weeks. It fixed the wobble problem when slowing down a song to zero. Happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy, happy... and a bunch more happys.
I'll be commenting on the Version 8 in the appropiate thread. They went waaaayyyyyy above my expectation in these new features. They went into our wish lists and included just about everytiing... plus a boatload more.
I'm floored. And I am psyched to use these new tools to achinve a much higher level of artistry. This company is amazing. Serato had nothing like this. Great job Atomix. Very professional.
FIRST PICTURE: Did you guys notice the windmills were not turning an inch. First time I ever saw that. No breeze summer day. I didn't think that was possible with the ocean right there.

Looks like the pitch fader is moved. Is the tone arm glowing too?
Posté Thu 16 Aug 12 @ 1:12 pm

How much is it to have the dicers built in?? Someday when I make it big their definitely doing a set of tables for me!!
Posté Thu 16 Aug 12 @ 2:06 pm
I dont know how much with the Dicers but to pimp out the decks, prices start at 600 for two Techs.

I wonder why these pics are the only pieces of information that I can find about the event. It's like the internet ignores it! What happened? Was the VDJ 8 presentation so mindblowing, that there were no survivors?
Posté Fri 17 Aug 12 @ 7:02 am
Thanks for the pic Caliente!!....Wondering where the new controllers for 2013 were though? Did I just miss them?....No RMX II...?......

Gemini had a very small booth this year compared to last year's giant setup. QSC was there, they also had a small booth, but they also had a full demo room on the second floor. There was a noticable list of companies missing from this years expo. the VDJ booth was awesome, as was the VDJ8/7.1 demo!
