You really only need Asio for low latency activities such as scratching or TCV. For normal use WDM is every bit as good. There have been similar issues with Asio drivers on the Denon MC-6000 and a lot of people are using WDM faultlessly instead.
Well worth a try as it could be the Asio buffer bringing VDJ down.

You said some key words...not working after 30 minutes...that sounds like your usb port is going to sleep. Google windows 7 disable usb power management, save settings, full shutdown then restart laptop . See if that doesn't stop it from going to sleep.

have you tried using the windows sound driver? the 4.1 channel ? if so do you know how to set the settings? aS I DONT WANT TO USE THE ASIO DRIVERsorry about the caps

i have tried everything in this thread and i can honestly say that pioneer ddj wego should not be sold to be used with windows PC so be warned do not buy if you want to not have the trouble that everyone is having
Posté Sun 10 Mar 13 @ 11:03 am
Misatgee...so you made the change telling the usb to never sleep and tried again with the unit? If that didn't work all I can suggest is reformat your drive, reinstall windows, reinstall Vdj, re-apply wego firmware, disable the usb in windows from going to sleep, then try djing for an hour or more.
EVERYONE is NOT having the same issue or perhaps ANY issue with the unit so, again, the warning you are giving is your opinion NOT fact.

its a new drive why would i need to format it? is these wego not supposed to be plug and play with any new machine? why dont they have a warning on the box stating you will have nightmares using this product ?
Posté Sun 10 Mar 13 @ 11:34 am
i paid good money hard earned money for virtual dj and a wego and it clearly has issues with new laptops . tell me why when you plug it in and follow thew instructions that the thing does not work like it should with windows ? without all the tech stuff that people should NOT have to do
Posté Sun 10 Mar 13 @ 11:46 am
with regards to formatting drives i have tried with 3 different drives and same happens, the vdj freezes the unit freezes the sound cuts out
Posté Sun 10 Mar 13 @ 12:09 pm
how can i stop video from stuttering without using the registry tool? as i think it might be the registry tool that i downloaded from virtual dj that is causing the issues
Posté Sun 10 Mar 13 @ 12:50 pm
why when you buy a new laptop that video does not play the same as on my old laptop ?
Posté Sun 10 Mar 13 @ 1:11 pm
Most likely reason is, different video card. I know you're frustrated, and I feel for you. Walk away from the problem for a couple of hours. Go for a walk. Take a drive. Watch TV. If you keep at it without any breaks, you'll only frustrate yourself more. Also, that will allow others to read your posts and, hopefully, offer a viable solution.

bit hard when i got to gig in an hour
Posté Sun 10 Mar 13 @ 1:18 pm
ive left the video stuttering for the last hour and its not crashed , might be the registry tool that someone posted when i run that to fix the video stutter, so if anyone has a better solution to fix the video stutter, .. the laptop is more than capable to cope with video the videos play fine in other programs just not virtual dj
Posté Sun 10 Mar 13 @ 1:29 pm
What's the exact model of your laptop?
Other programs don't process video in the same complex way VDJ does, so you will find they play fine in WMP and VLC as these programs don't have to mix in real time etc.
I seem to recall it being a Sony, if so then the video driver may be the issue. Sony don't allow you to install the latest drivers direct from the manufacturer however the ones they have on their site can also be way out of date and buggy.
Common issue I'm afraid.

Yeah I have tried the 4.1 setting as well as another physically impossible 302339 combinations of setting and still nothing. Perhaps it literally is one of those things where Pioneer didn't test this out completely on the Windows spectrum. Looks like we're screwed
Posté Sun 10 Mar 13 @ 3:53 pm
That's puzzling. When I had the audio pop issue when mixing video I remember using my friends Win 7 laptop as part of the troubleshooting process. His laptop was a $350-400 model. It met the Vdj specs for audio only. I knew it would not handle video but I had NO issues using the WeGo on that laptop during several hours of testing.

I have the feeling that you have Fader Start enabled. Can you please reset the software to factory settings ? Config->Info window.
But again, you said there is a stutter using the EQ knobs as well ? Can you try using the Default settings in the ASIO Pioneer Window instead of selecting the lowest value for latency ?
If you wish to use the WDM drivers instead of the ASIO, choose the 4.1 option in the SOund cards. But you might need to tell Windows that the Wego has 2 stereo chanels instead of 1. Rightclcik on the Speaker icon on your taskbar, choose Playback devices, select the Wego and choose COnfigure.. set the speakers to Quadrophonic mode (4 speakers) and launch VirtualDJ again.
Do the WDM drivers solve the stutter issue ?

Thanks man, I appreciate you and everyone else here trying to help us out, but I followed all the instructions you said, and not one significant difference. I also now happen to notice, something I did not demonstrate in the video but, when I move any of the faders, or knobs, extra slow, like gently start raising the volume fader, the program stutters even worse. If I put the fader up slowly, it takes 2 seconds for it to actually move on screen, all while stuttering the program

Could it be some sort of midi channel conflict?? I had a Hercules RMX a while ago and it did almost the same thing. When I moved the crossfader the program would stutter and then crash. It ended up having to do with the midi channels.....
Not sure if that helps ....
