Agreed groovindj, but the point is that a 1500 watt maplin amp doesn't give you anywhere near 750 "real" watts per channel. I have old disco amps from the early 80s that only claim to be 200 watts per channel that would walk all over this modern chinese junk! You've only got to open the lid and take a look at the size of the transformer and power caps to see that there's no way some of this stuff could live up to the manufacturer's claims.

I just sold a second hand Inter-M M1000 1000w Pro amplifier on ebay for less than the Maplin one cost in perfect condition. I think it went for £75.
If you hunt around you'll find something a lot more suitable and better value for money.
