Hello all :-)

I wonder if there is any plugin for VDJ to show a counter for Phrases, Bars and Beats, like in Traktor?

This functions is not a plug-in based! It’s all about the skin you are using. This functions already exists in VDJ script so all you have to do is to use a skin with those function available. Although skins aren’t available to limited and free users (I am making my skins by myself).

Would you please link to a couple of 2 deck skins where this feature is available. I'm not sure I've seen it before in any of the skins I've used and not really sure which skins employ it without having to d. load and try 50 different ones.......Thankx so much : )
 
I believe any of Phantoms skin have the phase meter on them.
 
I think that he means instead of showing the absolute value of the song position show it in blocks of 32 beats 4 beats and 1 beat. the only way I can think of to do it is with panels that have different visible values. Not sure if this will work as you may not be able to grab the value of "get beatpos" and modify it to use with VDJ script. but it would look something like this..

panel 32_1 visible="deck # get beatpos & param_cast "integer" & param_smaller 32 ? on : off"
panel 32_2 visible="deck # get beatpos & param_cast "integer" & param_greater 31 ? param_smaller 64? on : off : off"
panel 32_3 visible="deck # get beatpos & param_cast "integer" & param_greater 63 ? param_smaller 96? on : off : off"
panel 32_4 visible="deck # get beatpos & param_cast "integer" & param_greater 95 ? param_smaller 128? on : off : off"
ect...

the panels would need only the number on them that will increase every 32 beats to count phrases. To do 4 beats you would use "get beat_num 32" instead of "beatpos" and do a similar thing with the panels.. again this may not work as a get value is not a parameter in most cases.

Hopefully it will be native in VDJ8.. I have asked for it a lot of times in the past.

I would say, if you don't know how to count bars in your head, you need to go back to learning the basics of DJing. Cause you missed a lesson.
 
is this the new sync debate? with three tracks playing I think it would be good to ensure you stay in time, most kids want to have 4 decks playing constantly with loops and samples.. personally I disagree with it as there is too much noise but that's what happens these days.

If Atomix want to offer a better alternative to Traktor and Serato this is a must have feature and I can't see it being a controversial decision at all to include it. And like sync you can choose not to use it, personally I don't use sync but would benefit greatly from this inclusion as my skin has beats to next cue using phantom's skin companion plugin, but it can be hard to decipher large numbers with two tracks playing and one cueing up in the headphones, so I don't need it but I would appreciate it ;-)
