I can't pull files up to the decks. The normal arrow for the mouse pointer now has a circle around it with a line through it. Under this circle is what looks like a floppy diskette icon (like you see in MS Office and Adobe Acrobat to save a file). I've checked the mouse and it works in all other aspects of the laptop. I've checked the connections with the external hard drives and they are secure. Ive used the external hard drives to play music on media player and it worked fine.

you probably have the CTRL/CMD button pressed/stuck. When you hold that you can drag and drop files in the browser between folders.
