Sujet Used the exact same controller in a nightclub last night, but lost all of my mapping functions? shouldn't of this just worked straight away?

Hi there,

I done a gig last night at a venue, which they had the exact same controller as mine. 'Denon Hc4500' after I plugged it and begin dj'in
I realised that I had lost all of my buttons that I had re-mappped Loop etc...

I thought plugging into the same controller, wouldn't make a difference??

I just want to find out, incase I have to take my controller??

I'm not sure about VDJ7 but in VDJ8, the mappings are saved on your computer, so if you change for an identical controller and it doesn't pick up the mappings, you should be able to select your mapping file in the options page from the dropdown in the top right corner. Because VDJ doesn't ask to confirm before you delete or save over your Mappings file, I always keep a copy of the XML files in Documents\VirtualDJ\Mappers (on Windows).
