I don't think it is but not 100% sure, you could just design your own to work with 7 though. Question I would ask though is why not just use VDJ8 ?

It's not possible "out of the box" because the 8 skins use lots of new code that 7 wouldn't understand.

In theory you could use it if you spent time modifying the code and removing all the 8 specific stuff, or if you just used the graphics and wrote the XML from scratch for 7.

Not a simple job.

Hey Soulboy! I spin mainly videos and I use the hell out of the drag and drop feature for mps3 that dont have video and my virtual volders that I use dont sync between the 2 versions but I love the version 8 skin. Ive never made a skin and wouldnt know where to start.

Thinking some more about it, the easiest way to do it would probably be to use the 8 skin graphics but replace the 8 XML with the old 7 default skin XML.

You could then rework the 7 XML to correct the coordinates. Probably quicker than starting from scratch or trying to "back date" the 8 default XML.

Quick answer to "is this possible?" for a non skinner - no! :-)

Thanks guys! I used 8 last night but ended up going back to 7 halfway in. Its the little things that you get used to that are hard to change.

I agree, if you've never done a skin before or XML coding then it would be a nightmare - that's not saying it can't be done though its just complex

Just so you know there are 2 elements to a skin, the actual image file and the coding file (XML) if you go to your skin folder and extract a skin 'zip' file, open the image of that skin, you will see all the image elements that appear on your screen. Now if you also open the XML file (using notepad or similar) you will see all the coding that makes everything work, In the coding there are co-ordinates for everything, these co-ordinates tell the code where to find the relevant image to use for each function.

That is a very basic explanation by the way but ultimately to do what you want and as Groovin suggested in his last post would mean adjusting all the co-ordinates in the old VDJ7 xml file to fit the VDJ8 image file.

If that makes sense !! lol
