I haven't really tried it, as I thought it was for designed to work with version 7, will test it out

Any skin designed for 7 should work fine in 8 too - although there have been a few quirks.
The main difference is that the browser/sampler/effects/record tabs have no function in 8, as those thing are accessed in other ways now.
