If playing a track whose tempo is variable and therefore has beat anchors throughout, playing a looped sample over the top which has Sync-Lock set will produce noticeable crackles and pops.
This doesn't happen with a regular tempo track i.e. no beat anchors or with a variable;e tempo track and the looped sample set to Sync-Start.

In the latest build 2363, this issue is better however, the samples can go out of time with variable tempo tracks. I haven't seen this issue on regular tempo tracks.

You can see in the initial section that the CBG is in line with the beat.
00:33 the drum sample begins to play over the top of the track in time.
00:48 you hear a bit of a drop out, but the timing remains OKish.
00:53 a drop out but note the timing goes out.
01:03 I stop the sample and restart, it syncs back up in time.

Lol, yeah... I have several hundred tracks like that, it's an OCD thing... Been working on them for a couple of months... :-)
