Hi all,
I think it would be great to know how VDJ will mix the next song when it is in AUTOMIX-INTELLIGENT MODE.
And maybe to be able to midifie this choice for the next mix if we prefer an other mix mode.
What do you think about this?
:)

Kaleo,

If the ending song and the next one have both a "star"
(mixtempo flag is "on" in the Mixpoints dialog box), then
VDJ will do a "mixtempo" in "intelligent" mode. Else (at least
one of the 2 songs doesn't have a star) it will choose
the "fade" mode. That's all.

By using shortcuts, you can modify in real time the position
of the mixpoints in both modes (fade & mixtempo) but, as
far as I know :
1/ there is no function accessible by shortcuts that manages
the "mixtempo enable" flag (the star).
2/ if you use the BPM/Mixpoints dialog box, your modifications
are not taken into account in real time (you have to
reload the song).

So, I understand your request is related to these 2 points
1/ & 2/.

Hope this helps,

DJ LARIOS

DJ Wizzkidd,

Just tell me if you really have this :
* You are playing a song in automix mode (mixtempo
for example).
* You find that the endpoint is too far before the end
of the song so you decide to modify (while the song
is playing) its position.
* You open the Edit BPM / Mixpoints window, modify
the endpoint, and click "OK".
* You see that your endpoint red marker has moved and
is closer to the end. This new position will be used for
the next mix.

Because I don't have this. If I modify a mixpoint with the
"Edit BPM" window while a song is playing, I have to
reload the song to see my modification taken into account.

What is the application for this method ? I guess I don't understand because it semms to me that if you have to go to such extent to allow vDJ to perform the mix, you would really be mechanising the mix. That wouldn't be too impressive as far as DJ skills go. Well maybe I mis-understand... please forgive me.

It's a fairly detailed explanation. I think some description is found in the manual in your VDJ folder. (maybe not) But at some point in time someone posted a fairly detailed discussion of the differences. (maybe a search will help you find it) The best thing may be to try each setting over and over again with the same or similar tracks, and learn the differences by experience.

...sorry :)
I don't have the english version installed to check the right name.
Thank you to correct my english.

In fact, I ask for something simple. Only when you want to "have a little break" and you still near the computer.
Be able to change the way it will mix the next song... so one action every 3-4 minutes if you're not agree with the mix it will try.

Kaleo,

my remark (intelligent = smart) wasn't for you but
for DJ Wizzkidd who said "my VDJ hasn't an intelligent mode
but just a smart ...". He thought that he hasn't the same
VDJ as us ...... but, in fact, it was just a translation problem.

And kaleo, your idea to be able to modify the mix mode
in realtime is good. I also think it's very important
to take into account the points 1/ & 2/ of my first answer to
this topic (to be able to modify in realtime the position of
the markers).
