Sujet Can't access my S4 (mk1) mapping when it isn't plugged in

This one will be low on the fix list but suspect users of custom (non native) devices may have the same problem.
Can't access my S4 (mk1) mapping when it isn't plugged in, having to access the xml (which is a bit more efficient)

It's working fine here, just right-click on the list of controllers and select 'Show all supported controllers' then select your controller from the list, and select the custom mapping you want to edit.
I agree that finding your controller in the small list can be a little bit tricky, but not that hard.

My controller isn't natively supported (Atomix never picked up the S4 mk 1even as midi) , therefore it isn't in the list until it plugs in.

So it's general midi, and you didn't create your own definition for it?

There's a user upload mapping I'm using, but it only appears when connected

There's a difference between a mapping and a definition.
If it's a definition (describing how to detect the device, and mapping midi notes/cc values to buttons/leds/etc...) then it should show up when using show all devices.
If it's only a mapper to a generic midi device without a mapper then it will indeed not show up.

There is a def file in devices.

Are you sure you dont get an extra "Not connected" at the top of the list ? Probably the author hasnt provided a "Description" tag in the definition (was read from the mapping file in version 7)
