Is there any way to lock the info and sideview panes? This was available in VDJ7. It's really irritating that the info pane slides open when I hover too close while pulling songs from my side list. Any help?

VirtualDJ doesn't even have the feature to hover to open/close the pane... it always requires you to click the header to open or close.

have you tried different skins .
I use the dennyo skin and its fantastic . you can have screens open or closed and they don't do the annoying open thing when you hover on them , have a look

I'm actually using the Dennyo skin, and having this issue

Switch to the default skin and retest. As Adion said above, there is no hover open feature in VDJ8. If the default skin is doing that, then a video recording would be helpful.

It will open the Sideview/Split panel if you move over the area/button that toggles the view.
so in the default skin, if you move over the "sideview" vertical button, it will indeed open the window.
