Hey all,
Really hoping you guys can give me some help here, I recently installed Virtual DJ 8 over the past year and have been very happy expect for one thing. You see, i've been running it through an AUX cable into my mixer because Whenever I go to use it with my Denon mc6000 via USB (so i dont have to mix on screen) the sound comes out just Awful, It's as if you turned the bass all the way up and mid and high all the way down. You can't hear the lyrics of any song. I have 2 laptops, Lenovo T-61p and G-51. I'm hoping it's something really simple I' just over looking, Anyone got a saving grace for me?
ps my driviers are up to date

I am using the original MC6000 right now. My sound settings are:
External Mixer:
Deck 1 DN-MC6000 (WASAPI) Chan 1 & 2
Deck 2 DN-MC6000 (WASAPI) Chan 3 & 4
Do not use the ASIO drivers, as most of us have found do not work.

Rick,
In a recent post I was advised by a Senior Staff member not to discourage people from using the Asio drivers.

@Keith, Your unfortunate experience with the Denon ASIO drivers is not the rule. There are thousands of users who use the Denon ASIO drivers and never reported any issues. We already know your opinion (already posted in tens of your posts) but sharing the same experience over and over again whenever a "Denon" topic comes on sight is a bad habit , doesnt help users much and last but not least, i believe Denon doesnt deserve this either.

OK, I'll just say that the ASIO drivers have not worked for me, but you can try them, you may have better luck.

Not sure who said that, but I would personally recommend wasapi whenever possible as well.

Just to throw my hat into the ring, I've been using the ASIO drivers successfully since the MC6000 first came out, err.... over 4 years ago....ish. On a boot camped Mac with Windows 7.

Interesting, would you be willing to elaborate on this? I was under the impression that WASAPI could not achieve the latency levels that I would be looking for when running timecode. Am I incorrect on this? ASIO should be a more direct route to the hardware, correct?

Never had issues and i use asio too on Denon MK1 controller. have you got a filter active?

WASAPI in the default shared mode is almost certain to work, and for many uses gives an acceptable latency (depends on the system, but between 10 and 18ms are values typically seen)
When WASAPI is used in exclusive mode (when exclusiveAudioAccess option is enabled), the latency can be set by the latency option, and it will depend on the audio interface and pc how low you can go. Results are typically very similar to what you would achieve with ASIO.
In theory ASIO may be able to achieve better performance, but it also brings great responsibility to the manufacturer, since writing a stable driver that will work on all versions of windows does not appear to be an easy task.
For WASAPI, all the manufacturer has to do is to make a USB audio class compliant device.
Unfortunately, at this point not all devices are fully compatible with WASAPI either, often only 1 stereo pair is available in wasapi, and to access all channels a (ASIO) driver is required.
