Am I using smart mix wrong on the auto-mix feature? It seems like its rather straight forward as all the other options are just click options. When I click Smart, it's just a quick cut to the next song.
Not sure if I'm using it wrong or it just doesn't work right. I've tried reading up on it through google and this forum but I can't seem to get the right answer. Some people say it works on theirs, most say it doesn't though.

I've found automix to work only perfect conditions... So you need to have songs with the same BPM/tempo and with a 30sec opening that is all music... If you try to mix songs with different bpm/tempo, it's useless. I still wish when automix would could not find a tempo mix, it would do a fade mix instead of a cut-mix.

maybe I wasn't clear enough in my original post. Automix works fine, the smart option on auto mix doesn't seem to work at all. I just quick cuts to the new song every time.
I was wondering if it was something i was doing wrong or if it was vdj

Once you start automix take a look at the song waiting to play on the deck. See if the start cue point is in the proper position (usually way to the left). If it is not, right click on that track (located in the auto mix window) and click on BPM Editor. When BPM Editor is open you will see /2 & x2 in the box. Click on /2 and see if it moves the cue of the track waiting on the deck back into position. If Not click on x2 and see if that moves the cue back. I have had that problem occasionally (usually when I have a short track of less than thirty seconds waiting).

using the bpm editor didn't really fix the problem either
I've tried youtube for answers as well and there isn't a video detailing how to use the smart feature nor is there a post anywhere on the web from the searching I've done to help use it better

Smart automix relies on the automix cue points being correct. Check in the poi editor if these are available. If not try to reanalyze the songs so that the automix points are recalculated

Sorry.. I was the unclear one... I did mean smartmix and not automix in my reply.
I've been playing with Smart-Mix for years and I can never get it perform a fade if it cannot fix a tempo-mix. I can't stand the cut-mix as you too are finding. I wish there was an option to tell Smart-Mix which to choose when it can't find a Tempo-Mix...
