Sujet How do I backup/save my cues ?

Ce topic est ancien et peut contenir des informations obselètes ou incorrectes.

I want to go about redownloading VDJ8 but Im afraid that I will lose all of my cue points. How do I save or back up my cue points ?

Redownloading? What happened to your (implied) first download? After downloading something, it's good practice to keep it and also back it up.

The cue points are stored in the database, so simply keep a copy of that (see above. backups are important).

Reinstalling should not delete the existing data anyway - unless you've uninstalled your previous version and already deleted your database.

The DB (database.xml) is placed both on the external drive for the external files, and on the local drive in documents\virtual dj

You need to backup both when doing backup, and restore the one that has been corrupted if it fails

Are the individual cue points in each track still shifted by a few frames when they are transferred from V7 to V8?
If so, what would be a quick and/or easy way to correct the cue point shift for a few thousand tracks?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, that shift was due to a bug in VirtualDj 7
On VirtualDj 8 there's an action "shift_all_cues" which you can use to fix all the cue points for each track that has them shifted.
As you can understand this action can be used to fix all the cues on a single track at once, not on your entire database since the offset is different depending on the track itself.

Thanks Phantom.
Is the action "shift_all_cues" permanent, or is it a required command each and every time the track loads?
Where is the best place to put this command to work automatically when each individual track loads?
Thanks again.

once you move them they stay till you move them again.

The cue_adjust requirement between V7 and V8 can't be too permanent if it requires an adjustment action every time a track loads.
Anyway, where should the cue adjust action command be placed, in a POI or written into the XML?

(Sorry Rlallen I did not mean to hijack your post)...
