This idea was a quick one so it probably has more refinement within it.

Very nice thanks so much.
would this work the same if the filter folder was "group by title" or would the button need a different script?

The script just scrolls the folder tree so it will work.
Title will give you lots of false positives though, probably best to perform 1 pass with file name first
but it's a good one for a second pass
More [stronger] filter rules would be great
something like this would avoid, the false positive "artist - 'intro'"
file name doesn't contain intro and group by file name
I tried that it didn't work, I also tried making a filter folder in a filter folder and that didn't work either
or maybe
group by artist title,

I'm trying to pin down what groupings would be good for spotting dupes, What would be unique to a track, I've a few ideas floating about but the filter rules approximating [not precise] stops them.
none of these exist as filter rules currently
track time to the frame - not fool proof but would find some that file name might not
exact song bpm [ to the nth decimal point] - that should find some too
title & remix.
I must admit I do like seeing vdj flying through the tracks at 30 files per second.

Would you mind if I created a video for this?
On a secondary note, I've been working on the script for marking songs that mix well together. It doesn't seem like it should be hard but it's not working.

By all means make a video.
As for matches, I've put a wish in so, make vfolder script accepts a folder name, if it is taken on it will be a match system would be scriptable, if nothing appears in a few months time I may make a plugin

I need your support to develop a filter for duplicates using tags, bpm & length factors all together
Posté Mon 17 Aug 20 @ 10:43 am
This method has been superseded with the "duplicates" filter folder.
Posté Mon 17 Aug 20 @ 11:06 am
Thank you for your reply. Yes I know that there is a duplicate filter folder but the filter criteria is not what I want, I need to assign duplicates based on 3 criteria Tags, Length and Bpm. How can I build a special filter folder with such criteria?
Thanks.
Thanks.

not with vdj, not with this method, not sensibly anyway.
