Currently using a 2015 MBP with a ddj sx2, audio setup for Master and headphones set to ddj sx2. Also have an hdmi splitter attached to the hdmi output on MBP. 4 hours into gig audio suddenly cut out, track still playing in VDJ though. Opened up settings and saw the master and headphones are now set to hdmi. Any thoughts as to why the audio setup suddenly changed on its own?
I've never used hdmi as an audio setting before. If the hdmi happened to get discomnescted I know it brings the video out to the laptop, but ive never seen it impact the audio. Any thoughts?
TIA!

did you check the video device? Is is a TV. Does the TV have a 4-hour limit that shuts it down? That might have sent a message down the hdmi lead that made the software try and select a different audio and video device...
I had an issue with audio recently (the software glitched and set itself to a different audio controller, not the one that was connected !!!). This meant that I lost audio and because of that I also lost video as the software began to hang. It was either the usb port (which I swapped another usb device into -- just using it for voltage for a laptop cooler) or it may have been the usb lead (which I swapped out for a new one) - luckily it happened during a testing hour before the event started.

Yes, it is a TV its connected to. The TVs didn't turn off, but that's something I will definitely look into. Thanks for the suggestion.
Anyone else see this happen to them?

Never had this happen while playing, but did a couple of times have it route the audio to the HDMI when first plugged in. So I went into the display settings on laptop and disabled HDMI audio. Have you done that?

No, I haven't. I use a mac, not sure if that's an option as it is with a PC. I will certainly look into that though. Let me know if you happen to know how to do this on a mac.
thanks!
thanks!

Sorry, I have no real experience with a mac. My apologies. Your first message does say you are on a mac book, didn't notice.

AFAIK, VDJ selects the default OS sound device if the connected is not available (anymore).
I.E.
You are using a DDJ SX with sound setup to master + headphone using the SX sound card.
Close VDJ, disconnect the controller, start VDJ again. Soundsetup is still set to master+headphone with DDJ ASIO, but if you load a track an hit play the sound will play through your laptops speakers as this is your default audio device now.
So maybe, the controller became unavailable and VDJ switched to the internal sound device which could have been the HDMI output at that time.
