Sujet this is no bueno.

2 issues.. the first is this weirdness:


and the second: hit the spacebar to start a song and the screen froze (yes I had a backup pc running so no dead air) but after we closed I saved the application hang report from windows event viewer before I left the club from what happened tonight and from the previous incident.
we don't have the pc connected to the internet while the club is open so error/crash reporting isn't normally an option.


if anyone can shed some light on either of these issues it would be much appreciated

The first file count is the total amount of files in your db I believe.

I get the same bug sometimes too. But I can not reproduce it. It just happens sometimes.
For me it happens if you are searching for a song and delete the search by press and hold the backspace key.
MAYBE the bug will occure, most times it doesn't.

but the thing is...its not the total amount. we use a separate internal drive to hold all the music and videos. no folders - just individual files - and the total count is 19,291 files... (more or less) with any others we play brought in on either the other dj's thumbdrive or external drive. when I have to plug in one of my drives (rarely) mine is set up the same - no folders - just files.

and I can't regularly reproduce the bug either. I can sit there and try to make it do it under the exact same conditions and over and over nothing happens.. then *poof* I hit backspace while the search field is highlighted and it freezes with music playing. but it doesn't freeze if I deselect the text in the search box and press backspace.. I did notice that video freezes when this happens tho but the rest of the computer keeps chugging along.

What fields do you have visible in the Browser ? Any chance you have the "File Date" visible ?

I have skin setup just about the same at home as at club except maybe the file type not being listed as a field. so that is one I can answer here (other than that I would have had to wait until Wednesday evening)

First of all, have you cleaned your database from missing files ?

will have to do that and any other things to try on Wednesday when the club re-opens.

database cleaned.
disk defragged.
back-up pc running as always.
will be here till roughly 2-2:15am local

still having issue with incorrect file count showing until switching back and forth between folders. other than that no program hangs yet *knock on wood*

I'm not saying that the error is because of this, but does all your files reside on the root of the I: drive ? I don't see any folder structure on the vdjfolders you send me...
How many files do you have on the root of your I: drive ?

Edit: Let me guess ? 19314 ???
How many of them are audio and how many are video ? And did you had any filter applied at the time you shot the video above ? (e.g. show only video, or show only audio)

no folders - bare secondary drive for all media storage was added to pc then all music and video files (no karaoke) the only other media files are stored in MyDocuments and are used for in-house promotions - small promotional video clips and images played through TellyMedia and. TellyVisuals

currently 19337 files on drive I: (added some this evening)
4828 video both .mp4 and .vob file types with the majority being .mp4
14509 .mp3 files
show only music and video files

no folder structure because there aren't any folders except the vdj folder with 'folders' and the database
