I've recently purchased a new Laptop and it should arrive on Tuesday. Is there a way to import the hundreds of (very extensive) playlists when I log in to Virtual Dj on my new toy or do I have to start from scratch?

Search in the documents where the virtualdj / playlist folder is.
You can copy the files or the folder from the old to the new computer with an usbstick.
Copy the files or folders to the same direction.

If your playlists are "very extensive" then you really should be keeping a backup of them - and any other important files, in case your computer dies.....or indeed if you buy a new one.
A good way to do this nowadays is to use the cloud.
