Yes I agree but have a read of the argument put forward in the petition. According to the ALI many High Quality LED will also be banned.

"Even if it was within the possibilities of physics to create a lighting unit that was capable of meeting these proposals, it would be completely unreachable in a financial sense. It would require the immediate overhaul of infrastructure and stock of almost every venue in Europe!"

The main issue for me is the waste it is making of all the old equipment, robust, worked for years, well maintained, highly engineered pro gear. Equipment in small theaters, schools etc. Yes these pieces can use a lot of power but they're not like an illuminated shopping mall, they're only on for a small duration. Surely the cost on the environment to replace would be more. Even a slow roll out would see prices for lamps sky rocket.
